PF30 is the press-fit version of BB30 that uses cups. The frame shell is 46 mm (not 42 like BB30) and holds a 30 mm spindle. The cup absorbs the carbon frame's imperfections, so it creaks less than a direct BB30. It fits 30 mm, SRAM DUB and 24 mm spindles with the right cup.
PF30 was born to fix BB30's headache: the same 30 mm stiffness, but with cups that forgive the frame's tolerances.
PF30 is the evolution of BB30. Instead of pressing the bearing straight into the frame, it sits inside a composite cup that presses in. That cup absorbs small carbon imperfections, eases manufacturing and reduces creaking versus a direct BB30.
It fits 30 mm spindles, SRAM DUB (28.99 mm) and Shimano 24 mm, by choosing the right PF30 cup. A PF30 frame can also be converted to threaded with a two-piece thread-together bottom bracket that removes play. It is not the same as BB30 (46 vs 42 mm).
